Jesuit basketball began a three-game road trip to conclude the 2023-24 regular season in resounding fashion, upending Nimitz, 81-33 on Feb. 6. The Rangers secured their third straight win heading into a difficult two-game stretch to end the regular season as Jesuit battles the top two teams in District 7-6A, Highland Park and Richardson.

Caleb Steger led the charge for Jesuit with a double-double, scoring 21 points while adding on 10 rebounds. Steger tacked on two steals, an assist and a block to a strong all-around performance. Senior
Tre Mergerson picked up another double-digit outing with 13 points against the Vikings, picking up eight rebounds and four assists. Senior
Hank Gramlich led the way in assists with seven helpers on the night while senior

Ethan Mahowald scored eight points apiece.

Michael Grant each contributed seven points to the Jesuit effort. The Rangers' scoring was completed by four points from junior
Kevin Butera and sophomore
Cade Kirby along with two points from junior
Charlie Peters. Jesuit shot 55.9 percent from the floor while holding Nimitz to a 29.5 percent clip, forcing 14 Nimitz turnovers. Jesuit scored 24 points off of turnovers, 27 points off of 18 offensive rebounds and 44 points in the paint.

The Rangers and Scots will battle at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 before Jesuit finishes the regular season with a 7 p.m. showdown against Richardson on Feb. 13.
