The Jesuit Dallas crew program announced the naming of its newest shell in recognition of retiring athletic director Steve Koch, announced by the team during a ceremony at White Rock Lake on April 15.
 
Prior to the blessing, coordinated by Deacon Chris Knight, Jesuit Dallas Principal Tom Garrison '92 spoke of the impact that Coach Koch has had on not only the crew program, but on the entire Jesuit Dallas athletic department.
 
"The theme has been constant, and I learned it from Steve (Koch)", commented Garrison, "put your resource where the boys put their passion."
 
The Jesuit Dallas crew program began in 2001 and was one of several sports introduced to the campus during the 30-yard tutelage of Koch. The Rangers have continued to excel within the US Rowing Central Region throughout the years and, during the 2015-16 academic year, earned a berth in the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta in England.
