The Rangers began their penultimate district series of the regular season with a 4-0 victory over MacArthur, shutting out the Cardinals in Irving on Friday. Jesuit will take a 26-4 overall record and 10-3 mark into the final two games of the district slate and will aim to sweep MacArthur on Monday at Wright Field after Saturday's game was postponed due to weather.

Dillon Brandt came within one out of a perfect game, closing out another dominant performance with 12 strikeouts over a complete-game shutout performance, holding the Cardinals to one hit and only walking one batter. Brandt is 6-1 on the season with a team-leading 0.66 earned run average and has racked up 78 strikeouts during his junior year campaign.

James Jorgensen launched a two-run home run in the top of the first, capping an inning that saw junior Fults start the scoring for the Rangers with a one-out double, plating sophomore
Shane Parker. Senior
Gavin Hickey went 2-for-3, driving home junior
E'Mar Fleming II in the fourth with a double to right center. Fleming would finish the game 2-for-3 with a run scored, adding a double of his own to lead off the top of the fourth.

The series finale between the Rangers and Cardinals will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday at Wright Field. The Rangers will follow that matchup against MacArthur with the 2024 home finale against Richardson at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23.
