Jesuit Dallas suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday, dropping a 2-1 decision to Irving at Ranger Stadium.
Â
The Rangers fell behind 2-0 early in the first period but cranked the pressure up on the Irving defense with 11 second half shots. Junior
Corbyn Wendorf scored his first goal of the season in the 67th minute, finding the back of the net on a header following a cross by senior
Octavio Monjaras to cut the lead in half. Despite five corner kicks in the second half, Irving was able to whittle down the clock and escape Ranger Stadium with the win.
Â
Wendorf would finish the contest with two shots on goal as senior
Andres Benitez, senior
Max Sabogal and junior
Cooper McGough each recorded a shot on goal. Senior
Marcelo Elizondo spent the first half in goal for the Rangers before senior
Jake Chostner took over in the second half for the Rangers.
Â
Jesuit will travel to J.J. Pearce on Friday for its first road district match of the season. Kick-off between the Rangers and Mustangs is set for 7:15 p.m.
