Jesuit Hosts Lamar In UIL Bi-District Playoff On Friday

11/10/2025 8:00:00 AM

DALLAS - Jesuit Dallas is making its 18th UIL postseason appearance since joining the organization in 2004. Kickoff in the first-ever meeting against Arlington Lamar is set for 7 p.m. at Ranger Stadium.

JESUIT POSTSEASON 101

• Jesuit is 14-17 all-time in UIL postseason action. The Rangers are 11-6 in Bi-District play.

• Jesuit won 20 state championships between 1954-99 as members of the Texas Christian Interscholastic League (TCIL), a precursor to the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) of which Jesuit was a member until 2000.

RED ZONE IS OUR HAPPY PLACE

• The Rangers have scored on 23 of their 25 trips into the red zone this season, including a season-best 5-for-5 last week at Berkner. They have 18 TD and five FG. One of the misfires was a turnover on downs at Irving with Jesuit ahead 52-13 and 3:13 left in the fourth quarter. In fact, they have converted on their last 22 when you take the Irving end of game possession out of the equation.

SCORING AVG IN LAST 4 GAMES

• Jesuit has seen its offense get more consistent the last month, averaging 40.5 points in the last four games.

HOLD ON TO THE ROCK

• Jesuit has a plus-3 turnover margin this season and has been especially good at holding on to the ball of late, turning it over just once in the last four games.

RUNNING DOWN A DREAM

• Jesuit is averaging just 122 rushing yards per game but has seen a nice uptick over the last four games. With some offensive linemen coming off the injured list in recent weeks, the Rangers have averaged 162 yards per game on the ground in the last four weeks.

GOING AT OUR OWN PACE

• Historically, Jesuit teams have run an up-tempo offense. While they haven't abandoned it thus far, they have had injuries to key players that has seen the group slow things down.

• The Rangers have had 26 scoring drives and eight have lasted at least 4:00.

SCORING IN BUNCHES

• Jesuit has gone on some big scoring runs in the last few games. scoring 42-consecuitve against MacArthur four weeks ago, 24-consecutive against Richardson, 31-consecutive against Berkner and 42-consecutive against Nimitz last week.

BERRY AMONG TOP PASSERS IN THE DISTRICT

• Senior QB Beck Berry is emerging as one of the better quarterbacks in the district after moving from receiver in the offseason. He has thrown for 1,332 yards on 130-of-227 passing with 11 TD. He is third in the district in passing yards and completion percentage, with a season-high 227 attempts. He led the team in rushing for the majority of the season but with Shane Parker's return from injury, Berry hasn't been called upon to move the ball with his legs as much. He has 227 rushing yards and four TD.

WIDE RECEIVERS STARTING TO GET ROLLING

• Senior WR Cade Kirby has emerged as the top receiver for the Rangers. He leads the team with 511 yards on 42 receptions and a district-leading eight TD. Three weeks ago at MacArthur he lit up the field with three TD on five
