ARLINGTON, Texas - The Jesuit Dallas basketball team fell to No. 7 Allen, 73-53, in the season opener at the Arlington Showcase on Friday afternoon.

Senior Pierce Popelka scored a career-high 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting to lead the Ranger offense. Senior Justin Fern added 14 points.

The Rangers shot 37 percent and were just 3-of-19 from outside.

Allen shot 45 percent and was led on offense by Lawrence Nehemiah with 24 points and seven rebounds.

Jesuit will return to play on Tuesday at Coppell.
