Volleyball Sweeps Plano East, Founders to Start 2025 Season

Jesuit Dallas volleyball opened the 2025 season with a pair of wins, securing 3-0 sweeps of Plano East and Founders Classical Academy on February 20 and February 21, respectively. The Rangers hosted the Panthers at Walsh Gym, picking up a 25-15, 25-23, 25-21 decision before securing a dominant win on the road over Founders, 25-14, 25-18, 25-11. 
 
Against Plano East, the Rangers were led by sophomore Eli Garza, who racked up 14 kills and hit at a 60 percent clip, tacking on four aces and three assists. Junior Parker Schutze added 13 kills on the day while junior Cash Ramirez secured 19 assists for the Rangers. Miles McGovern matched Garza's team lead with four aces on the day, and Jesuit racked up four blocks against the Panthers. Junior Nate Fabriga snagged a team-high 14 digs on the back row and added four assists while McGovern and freshman Nate Laigo secured eight and five assists, respectively.
 
In Jesuit's second win of the season, the Rangers were anchored by 12 kills from Schutze and 22 assists by Ramirez. Garza added 10 kills on the night, followed by seven kills from McGovern while Fabriga scored six aces. Garza led the team with six digs while Schutze and Ramirez scored vice aces each. In total, Jesuit recorded 23 aces during the match, assisted on 33 of the team's 34 kills and held Founders to a -0.023 hitting percentage.
 
The Rangers will return to the court on Tuesday, February 25 to match up with St. Mark's. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
