Basketball Clinches Playoff Spot With Win Over Nimitz

Jesuit Dallas clinched its spot in the upcoming University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A Playoffs on Tuesday after securing a 54-38 win over Nimitz at Walsh Gym. The Rangers are currently ranked second in the District 7-6A standings with a 10-2 record, trailing district leader Lake Highlands by one game as the district heads into the final two games of the regular season.
 
Seniors Michael Grant and Caleb Steger led the way for the Rangers, scoring 18 points and 15 points, respectively. Junior Cade Kirby added eight points and five rebounds, shooting 3-of-4 from the floor and adding a critical traditional three-point play that gave the Rangers momentum in the second half. Senior Charlie Peters led the team with seven rebounds and four assists as junior Cooper Jensen buried a pair of three-pointers to finish the game with eight points.
 
Jesuit Dallas will play its final regular season road game on Friday as the Rangers travel to battle the Irving Tigers. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Irving H.S.
