Seniors Michael Grant and Caleb Steger logged 20-point performances as the Rangers powered their way to a 44-20 halftime lead en route to an 82-53 victory over Irving on Friday.
 
Steger closed out the bout with a team-high 28 points, shooting 11-of-16 from the floor and hitting four three-pointers while senior Michael Grant scored 24 points with a 10-of-13 shooting performance from the field. Junior Justin Fern secured a team-leading six rebounds and scored four rebounds while senior Robert Prager, senior Ethan Mahowald and junior Pierce Popelka scored four points apiece. 
 
The Rangers finished the contest shooting 57.9 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from behind the arc, dominating inside the paint with 42 points inside the lane while adding 19 points off 13 Irving turnovers. Jesuit out-rebounded Irving, 36-19, adding 14 second chance points on 13 offensive rebounds. Steger led the team with six assists, Grant added a team-high five steals, and the pairing of seniors Kevin Butera and Charlie Peters secured three assists apiece.
 
Jesuit will close the regular season on Tuesday, February 11 at Walsh Gym against J.J. Pearce. Prior to the beginning of Tuesday's matchup, the Jesuit Dallas basketball will recognize the senior basketball student-athletes and managers along with the senior members of the Jesuit Dallas cheerleading team. Tip-off for Tuesday's matchup between the Rangers and Mustangs is set for 7 p.m.
