Pierce Popelka had 17 points and 11 rebounds, and
Justin Fern added 15 to help Jesuit Dallas defeat Berkner, 68-44, at Walsh Gym on Tuesday.
Jesuit (8-12, 1-3 7-6A) earned its first district win as it shot 46 percent from the floor, - including 52 percent after a sluggish opening eight minutes.
The teams went back-and-forth en route to a 12-12 tie after the first period. Then the Ranger bench came alive and helped kick-start the offense, outscoring the Rams 19-10 for a 31-22 lead at the half. Jesuit's bench ended the game with 25 points, getting eight from
Jack Schar and seven from
Colin Grant.
Jesuit held a 34-25 rebounding edge and used 14 offensive boards to score 16 second-chance points.
The Blue and Gold improved to 4-2 at home this season as they played in front of the home crowd for the first time since December 6 - which totaled a span of 8-consecutive road games.
Jesuit will be back on the road for its next two contests, beginning this Friday at Irving Nimitz. Tip-off at Nimitz HS is at 7 p.m.
