Volleyball Wins Bronze at First Point National HS Invitational

The Rangers went 2-1 in pool play and 2-1 in bracket action

AUSTIN, Texas - The Jesuit Dallas volleyball team won the bronze medal at the First Point National High School Invitational on Saturday.

The Rangers went 4-2 over the weekend to claim the third place spot in their division.

The festival began on Thursday night with the Opening Ceremonies at the Palmer Event Center. The tournament featured 32 teams from 23 states split into three divisions. 

In Friday's pool play, Jesuit defeated Trinity Christian 2-1 (23-25, 25-19, 15-11),  La Cueva 2-1 (22-25, 25-15, 15-9) and fell to The Cyclones, 2-1 (25-17, 23-25, 16-14).

On Saturday, the Rangers opened the bracket with a win over Strake Jesuit, 2-0 (26-24, 25-13) before falling to TC Roberson, 2-0 (25-21, 25-20). In the bronze medal match, Jesuit prevailed 2-0 (25-22, 26-24) over The Cyclones.

Jesuit is now 14-3 on the year and will play host to the Red River Rattlers on Tuesday night at Walsh Gym.
