Jesuit won 4-0 in Game 2 of the Region II Championship this evening, completing a series sweep over Oak Ridge and securing a spot in next week's UIL Baseball State Tournament.
 
The UIL State Tournament begins Friday, June 12, with the 6A semifinals held in the afternoon at Dell Diamond in Round Rock (home of the Round Rock Express). The 6A state championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Dell Diamond. Jesuit will explore the possibility of sending a fan bus to the games; if planned, information about the fan bus will be posted at www.jesuitrangers.org and on social media early next week.
 
Jesuit beat Oak Ridge in Game 1 on Thursday night, then traveled home to face the War Hawks in Game 2 at Prosper High School. Friday night, junior Kyle Muller was absolutely stellar on the mound. The Texas commit earned a complete game shutout, while striking out 7 and giving up only 3 hits on the evening.
 
The Rangers got it going right away at the plate, as Darius Hill hit a triple off the left field wall to score Cameron Dobbs with no outs in the bottom of the first. Hill later scored on a Grant Reuben single to give Jesuit a 2-0 lead in the first inning. In the bottom of the second, Jesuit scored again as Dobbs rocketed a single to centerfield to plate Chase Jennings. Dobbs then hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth to give Jesuit a 4-0 lead. The Ranger second baseman reached base three times in four at bats.
