Battle for District 9-6A: Both teams enter Friday's matchup with unblemished, 6-0 records in University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 9-6A with the hopes of taking the outright district lead at the midway point of league play.  Skyline will arrive at Walsh Gymnasium as the No. 13-ranked team in the state of Texas, according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC), and a No. 3 ranking according to the most recent Dallas Morning News Area Rankings.  Jesuit Dallas is ranked No. 10 in the area, released on Thursday, improving to 6-0 in the district after Tuesday's win over Sunset.

Third-Quarter Run Stifles Sunset: A determined effort by the Ranger perimeter shooters and a convincing rebounding advantage helped a 20-point halftime blossom to a 60-24 advantage late in the third quarter, lifting Jesuit Dallas to an 84-39 win over Sunset on Tuesday evening at Ellis Davis Fieldhouse.  The Rangers recorded a new season-high single game scoring mark, anchored by a team-leading 21 points from sophomore Michael Jankovich.  Junior Mitch Prendergast added 20 points while sophomore Marcus Hill, named Ranger of the Week on Monday, scored 15 points to increase his double-digit scoring streak to 11 consecutive contests, dating back to the team's Dec. 21 tilt against Cedar Hill.  Senior Ben Kunasek scored seven points, adding a team-leading five assists while dragging down nine rebounds.  Junior Jacob Palisch logged his first double-digit rebounding performance of the year, recording 12 rebounds, including six offensive boards.  In total, Jesuit out-rebounded the Bison, 43-23, scoring 18 second chance points off of 18 offensive rebounds.  In addition, the Rangers converted 21 Sunset turnovers into 32 total points while holding a 28-20 advantage in the paint.

Scouting Skyline: The Raiders open the week with a 19-1 mark, their only loss courtesy of Lancaster, who upended Skyline, 64-60 in the Dallas ISD Tournament.  The Raiders staked their claim for the UIL District 9-6A crown with a 67-61 win over MacArthur on Jan. 8.  Most recently, Skyline defeated Irving, 67-14, on Tuesday after earning a 64-13 decision over Sunset on Jan. 15.

On Deck: Friday's game signals the beginning of a three-game home stand for the Blue and Gold, who will host Irving at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26 before welcoming Nimitz for another 7:30 p.m. clash on Friday, Jan. 29.
