Rangers Celebrate Senior Night With Dominant Victory:
Celebrating the careers of seniors Ben Kunasek, Rusty Landon, Shawn Regan and senior team manager Alex Reilly, Jesuit Dallas closed the 2016 regular season home slate with a 68-20 triumph over Sunset High School on Friday evening at Walsh Gymnasium. Regan shot 5-of-7 from the floor to finish with 12 points while tying Kunasek for the team lead with six rebounds. Sophomore Michael Jankovich tallied a team-high 13 points, helping the Rangers earn their 20th win of the season by scoring 34 points in the paint and 29 points off of 19 Sunset turnovers.

Magic Numbers: The Rangers enter the final week of the regular season assured of a 20-win campaign for the first time since the 2011-12 campaign, mostly due to dominance in several offensive categories. Outscoring opponents by 13.1 points per game this year, the Rangers have shot 44.7 percent from the floor as a team, 6.6 percent better than opponents, while out-rebounding foes by an average of 6.2 boards per game. In addition, Jesuit Dallas is 16-1 this season when scoring between 60 and 75 points, and are 11-1 when the team records a double digit offensive rebounding total.

Last Time Out: The then-No. 13 Texas state-ranked Raiders silenced a packed Walsh Gymnasium, handing the Rangers their first district loss of the season, 56-38, on Jan. 22. Skyline held Jesuit Dallas to its lowest point total of the season while shooting 62.1 percent from the floor, sparked by 18 points from Tivin Ridguard. Junior Mitch Prendergast led the Rangers with 11 points, but a 21-point fourth quarter was not enough to topple a possession-based game plan from the Raiders.

Catching Up With the Raiders: Now ranked No. 11 in the state of Texas according to the and No. 3 in the most recent Dallas Morning News Area Rankings, Skyline enters Tuesday with the UIL District 9-6A Championship clinched and aim to close the district campaign unbeaten. The Raiders beat MacArthur at the buzzer, 56-54, on Feb. 2 before outscoring R.L. Turner, Sunset and Irving by an average of 36 points per game to keep momentum alive headed into Tuesday's battle.

Bi-District Preview: Skyline, MacArthur, Jesuit Dallas and W.T. White have all clinched their berths in the UIL 6A Tournament, and will be matched up against Richardson (25-6), Mesquite (18-8), Highland Park (21-9) and J.J. Pearce (20-10) out of District 10-6A. The Rangers are 1-1 against 10-6A this season, defeating Mesquite, 65-52, in the season opener on Nov. 17 before falling to Highland Park, 83-76, at home on Nov. 24. J.J. Pearce attended the Knights of Columbus Tournament at Jesuit in early December, finishing 2-1 after defeating Xavier (Calif.), 58-36 on Dec. 4 and University H.S. (Waco), 83-76, the following day.
