No. 21 Basketball Set for Mid-Week Battle Against Mesquite

Jesuit Races to Season-Opening Triumph
A career-high 21-point performance by senior Keagan Nwosu set the tone in a season-opening, 84-63 victory over Harker Heights on Friday in Fort Worth, Texas. The Rangers shot 51.9 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three-point range while out-rebounding Harker Heights, 37-24. Junior Max Abmas buried a team-high four three-pointers to finish the contest with 18 points. Senior Marcus Hill closed the contest shooting 7-of-12 from the floor while dragging down eight boards to compliment a 20-point performance. Junior Julius Marble recorded a double-double in his varsity debut, scoring 11 points with 10 rebounds to help the Jesuit effort.
 
Nwosu Named Ranger of the Week After Stellar Outing
Senior forward Keagan Nwosu earned his first Ranger of the Week honor after helping pace the Rangers to Friday's victory against Harker Heights. Nwosu shot 7-of-8 from the floor and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe to log the first 20-point outing of his career. In addition to his scoring prowess, Nwosu6 grabbed two rebounds and recorded three assists.
 
Returning Rangers Providing Early Spark
Entering the season with six returning varsity players, the No. 21-ranked Jesuit Dallas Rangers enter the 2017-18 season aiming to continue the momentum set from the program's first UIL Region II-6A Tournament bid last winter. Returning all-district first team designees Michael Jankovich and Marcus Hill and second team pick Reid Hatzmann join classmates Keagan Nwosu, Joey Preboy and junior Max Abmas
 
Scouting Mesquite
The Skeeters enter their first action this season on Tuesday, aiming to follow a 20-9 season that resulted in a run to the UIL Region 2-6A Area Round. Mesquite closed the district season with a 10-2 mark, finishing second in UIL District 11-6A. Returners include first team all-district pick Aaron Sanders alongside second team selections Markhael Stillwell and Grant Stewart. Reigning District Coach of the Year Donald Curts leads the Skeeters into the 2017-18 season, which will also include a trip to the 55th Annual Bob Stras Basketball Invitational at Jesuit Dallas in December.

Jesuit Dallas will welcome Denton High School to Walsh Gym on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 1:30 p.m. The Rangers will hold their first home game of the season against a Broncos team that went 10-2 in UIL District 5-5A, advancing to the area round of the playoffs. Jesuit will then battle Lee H.S. (Ala.) at the Duncanville Thanksgiving Hoopfest on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 1:30 p.m.
