Keagan Nwosu set the tone in a season-opening, 84-63 victory over Harker Heights on Friday in Fort Worth, Texas. The Rangers shot 51.9 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three-point range while out-rebounding Harker Heights, 37-24. Junior

Nwosu Named Ranger of the Week After Stellar Outing
Senior forward
Keagan Nwosu earned his first Ranger of the Week honor after helping pace the Rangers to Friday's victory against Harker Heights. Nwosu shot 7-of-8 from the floor and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe to log the first 20-point outing of his career. In addition to his scoring prowess, Nwosu6 grabbed two rebounds and recorded three assists.

Scouting Mesquite
The Skeeters enter their first action this season on Tuesday, aiming to follow a 20-9 season that resulted in a run to the UIL Region 2-6A Area Round. Mesquite closed the district season with a 10-2 mark, finishing second in UIL District 11-6A. Returners include first team all-district pick Aaron Sanders alongside second team selections Markhael Stillwell and Grant Stewart. Reigning District Coach of the Year Donald Curts leads the Skeeters into the 2017-18 season, which will also include a trip to the 55th Annual Bob Stras Basketball Invitational at Jesuit Dallas in December.
