Jesuit dropped an 82-50 decision to Richardson on Friday at Richardson H.S. and end the first circuit of District 7-6A competition with a 5-2 record. In sole possession of third place in the district following the showdown with the top-ranked team in the state and No. 2 ranked team in the nation, the Rangers will shift their focus to an impending matchup against J.J. Pearce on Tuesday at Walsh Gym.

Ryan McCormick led Jesuit with 16 points on the day, finishing the night with a 7-of-13 clip from the field and a team-leading eight rebounds. Senior

Grant Kostos led the team with three assists on the night, followed by two assists by senior

Richardson held Jesuit to 4-of-27 from three-point range and scored 21 points off of 15 Jesuit turnovers. The Rangers attacked the lane against the Eagles, racking up 30 points in the paint along with 16 second chance points off of 13 offensive boards.

The Rangers will welcome the Mustangs for a 7 p.m. tip-off on Tuesday, aiming to sweep the season series from Pearce following a 67-59 win over the Mustangs on Dec. 21. In that win, Johnson led the charge with 22 points as three Rangers finished the game in double digits. Pearce wrapped the opening round of district with a 64-38 win over MacArthur, and are 3-4 in District 7-6A heading into Tuesday's showdown.
