A pair of double-digit scorers paced the Rangers, but Lake Highlands scored 34 points in the paint and shot 60 percent in the second half en route to securing a 65-40 win over Jesuit on Tuesday at Walsh Gym. The Wildcats, ranked atop the
Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Top 25 poll, sends the Rangers to 6-5 in district play as the second circuit against district competition kicks into full gear.
Junior
Will Bronson converted 5-of-8 shots and added a pair of free-throws to close out the contest with a team-high 12 points. Bronson would add a team-high seven rebounds, including three of Jesuit's 11 offensive rebounds that ultimately led to 15 second chance points. Sophomore
Caleb Steger shot 3-of-6 from three-point range, closing out the contest with 11 points. Senior
Dylan Gibbons scored six points, added a team-high three assists, and secured three rebounds and a steal. Senior
Hampton Aldridge scored three points while seniors

Michael Mathie and junior
Hank Gramlich scored two points apiece. Gramlich and senior
Charlie Needham added two assists each.
The Rangers secured 15 second chance points, out-gaining the Wildcats, 15-7. Jesuit added 24 points in the paint and finished the contest with 28 rebounds, with Gibbons, Berry and Needham scoring three boards apiece while Steger, Kryger, Alrdige and Gramlich each secured two rebounds.
Jesuit will look for its seventh district win on Jan. 27, as the Rangers take on MacArthur at 7 p.m. The Rangers will target a season sweep of the Cardinals, as Jesuit defeated MacArthur, 73-46, on Dec. 20.
