Jesuit Dallas won the opening round of the 60
th Annual Knights of Columbus Bob Stras Memorial Invitational, fending off Frisco Centennial en route to a 55-39 victory on Thursday Night at Walsh Gym. The game also signified the team's annual Teddy Bear Toss game, as the capacity crowd showered the Walsh Gym floor with Teddy Bears following the opening basket from junior
Caleb Steger, providing stuffed animals that will be donated to children's hospitals across the Metroplex.

On the court, Steger led the charge with 13 points, shooting 5-of-10 from the floor. Senior
Hank Gramlich added 11 points on a perfect, 5-for-5 shooting performance, including a three-pointer and a team-high four assists. Senior
Justin Kemp scored eight points, senior
Will Bronson tacked on seven points, junior
Michael Grant and senior
Alec Piotrowski secured six points apiece and two points from senior
Tre Mergerson and sophomore
Cade Kirby completed the scoring column.

Bronson finished the contest with a team-high eight rebounds and added a team-leading two blocks. Kirby picked up a team-leading two steals, as Jesuit finished the contest with 19 points off of 15 Centennial turnovers, shot 54.1 percent from the floor and 42.1 percent from three-point range.

Jesuit will advance to the championship semifinal against Sachse. The Mustangs began the tournament with a 67-57 win over OKC Storm, and the winner of the second semifinal will play either Dallas Hillcrest or Dallas Lincoln in the tournament championship game. Tip-off between the Rangers and Mustangs is set for 7 p.m. on Friday.
