Jesuit Dallas senior
Caleb Steger became the first Ranger since the 2020-21 season to hit the 1,000 career point mark, securing the milestone as Jesuit Dallas defeated Dallas Lincoln, 74-49, on Tuesday at Walsh Gym.

Steger erupted for 26 points in the win, hitting 9-of-17 shots, including five from behind the arc, and finishing the bout with 11 rebounds for a double-double. Steger additionally tied seniors
Ethan Mahowald and
Charlie Peters for the team lead with three assists apiece. Junior
Justin Fern scored 10 points, Mahowald added eight points, Peters scored six points, junior
William Alexander added nine points and senior
Michael Grant scored six points. Senior
Kevin Butera and junior
Cade Kirby completed the Rangers' scoring column with five points and four points, respectively. Peters and Alexander would tack on seven rebounds apiece while junior
Cooper Jensen snagged five boards and recorded two assists.

The Rangers' defense smothered Lincoln throughout the matchup, holding the Tigers without a three-pointer in the second and third quarters and forcing Lincoln to a 26.7 clip from three-point range in the game. Jesuit dominated the boards, out-rebounding Lincoln, 48-18 in the matchup.Â

Steger becomes the first Ranger to score 1,000 points since Gavin Perryman '21, who is currently competing at the University of Vermont as a graduate student following a three-year stint at the University of Texas at Austin.  Jesuit will return to action on Monday, December 2, following the Thanksgiving break with a key non-district showdown against Highland Park. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. on Monday at Highland Park H.S.
