Jesuit split its first day at the 2024 Lewisville Round Robin Invitational, upending Mesquite Poteet, 58-37 before suffering an 82-67 setback to Little Elm.

Charlie Peters racked up a team-leading six rebounds, adding a team-high five assists. Butera led the team with three steals. Jesuit's defense smothered Poteet throughout the matchup, holding the Pirates to 32.6 percent shooting during the game, including a 3-for-18 clip from three-point range. The Rangers added 34 points in the paint and 12 second chance points off 11 offensive rebounds.

Grant added another 20-point performance against Little Elm, racking up over 25 points and finishing with a double-double while Steger added a 20-point performance of his own to pace the Rangers against Little Elm. However, the Lobos utilized a 23-point advantage in the second quarter to establish control of the matchup, holding a Jesuit fourth quarter comeback at bay to hold onto the win.

The Lewisville Round Robin tournament will continue Saturday, as Jesuit will finish the four-game tournament with matchups against Frisco Wakeland and Lewisville. The tip-off against Wakeland is set for 9 a.m. at Hebron H.S., followed by a 3 p.m. showdown against Lewisville at Flower Mound H.S.
