Former Jesuit Dallas basketball standout and college basketball star Max Abmas '19 signed a summer league contract with the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA) on Thursday, June 27, becoming the fourth player in Jesuit Dallas basketball history to ink a professional contract.

Abmas finished a stellar collegiate career as the eighth-highest scorer in the history of NCAA Division I basketball, closing out his five-year career with 3,131 total points scored. Abmas played four years at Oral Roberts, where he was a three-time All-American, the Lou Henson National Mid-Major Player of the Year in 2021 and the Summit League Player of the Year in 2023 before spending his last year at the University of Texas at Austin, where he was named the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Division I Men's Basketball Team Member of the Year.

During his Jesuit Dallas career, Abmas scored 1,462 points, which is the highest career total for a member of the Jesuit Dallas basketball program since career stats were officially tracked in 2015. He finished his time at Jesuit as the career leader in scoring average (15.9 ppg), field goals made (495), three-pointers made (256) and steals (134), and in 2018 helped Jesuit Dallas reach the regional final for the first time in program history.
