DALLAS - Experienced youth rowing coach Joseph Ursini has been named head coach of Jesuit Dallas Crew following a nationwide search and will take the reins of one of the top high school programs in the South. Ursini served as an assistant coach with the Rangers from 2016-21.

"We are excited to welcome Joe as the next head coach of Jesuit Dallas Crew. Throughout the search process, what stood out most was not only Joe's passion for the sport of rowing, but his deep commitment to developing young men of character. Joe understands that success in our program extends far beyond results on the water. We are confident that Joe will build meaningful relationships with our student-athletes while continuing the tradition of excellence within our crew program, and we are thrilled to have him lead Ranger Crew into its next chapter."

Ursini was most recently the head coach of the U19 program at White Rock Rowing, and from 2021-23, served as the head coach for White Rock Rowing's U16 and U17 program. During Ursini's tenure as an assistant coach at Jesuit, the Rangers won a pair of USRowing Central Youth Regional Championships and saw a number of boats advance and perform well at the USRowing Youth National Championships and Stotesbury Cup Regatta.

"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead Jesuit Crew," said Ursini. "I'm excited to help guide Jesuit student-athletes along the path to achieving their short and long-term goals. I want the guys who leave the program after graduation to recognize how Jesuit Crew directly impacted their development into high-caliber individuals and prepared them for success in their future endeavors. Our program will focus on creating a culture of consistency and I look forward to the opportunity to build this program into a high-performing crew capable of competing with the best programs in the country."
