Second Chance Success:
One of the Rangers' strongest traits during University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 9-6A play has been the squad's ability to secure offensive rebounds and score second chance points.  Jesuit Dallas is 5-0 this season when bringing down 15 or more offensive boards, averaging 10.96 per game.  For instance, in the Rangers' win against MacArthur on Jan. 12, Jesuit Dallas scored 18 second chance points, a key figure in the squad's 64-61 win over the Cardinals, on 13 offensive rebounds.

Comeback Kids: On seven occasions this season, the Rangers were faced with a contest after a loss, hoping to regain momentum.  Each time, the Blue and Gold have risen to the occasion.  Jesuit Dallas is 7-0 this year after a loss, outscoring opponents on average of 16.1 points per game.  The most recent iteration came on Tuesday, when the Rangers defeated W.T. White, 60-48, on Feb. 5 after falling to Nimitz, 54-49, on Jan. 29.

Cardinals Lose at Buzzer Against Skyline: MacArthur held a six-point lead in the first quarter, but were unable to contain a determined effort from the Texas state-ranked No. 12 Skyline, falling, 56-54, to the Raiders on Tuesday, Feb. 2.  Andrew Jones scored 37 points in the losing effort for the Cardinals, while Skyline's Marcus Garrett scored 29 points to compliment 15 points from LaDarrian Burney.

Last Time Out: Jesuit Dallas picked up one of its biggest wins of the season against MacArthur on Jan. 12, upending the Cardinals, 64-61, on the road to improve to 4-0 in UIL District 9-6A play.  Junior Marcus Hill finished the game with a team-leading 22 points, including a go-ahead running jumper in the paint that gave the Rangers the lead with a minute remaining.  University of Texas commit Andrew Jones starred for the Cardinals, scoring team-high 25 points on 10-of-22 shooting, but committed five turnovers.  Senior Ben Kunasek logged his second-highest assist total of the season, helping on seven Ranger buckets, while Junior Jacob Palisch blocked a potential game-winning attempt by Jones in the waning moments of the game, securing the rebound and clinching the game for the Blue and Gold.  Jesuit Dallas also procured a narrow but impactful 31-27 rebounding advantage.

On Deck: Jesuit Dallas will conclude the regular season next week, traveling to R.L. Turner on Feb. 9 before welcoming Sunset to Walsh Gymnasium for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off on Friday, Feb. 12.
