GAME PREVIEW: No. 15 Jesuit Dallas Heads North to Face Plano East

Rangers Capture Fourth Straight Win During Thanksgiving Hoopfest
Anchored by a trio of double-digit scorers, Jesuit Dallas basketball squad withstood a late charge by Lee (Ala.) in a 68-60 victory in a Duncanville Thanksgiving Hoopfest matchup on Nov. 24. Jesuit improves its season-opening winning streak to four games with the victory with a four-game slate set for next week. Senior Marcus Hill scored 17 points for the Rangers, shooting 6-of-17 from the floor and burying four shots from behind the arc. Michael Jankovich added a season-high 15 points on 4-of-10 shooting. In addition, senior Reid Hatzmann and junior Julius Marble scored 11 points apiece while leading Jesuit in other offensive categories. Hatzmann added a team-high seven assists while Marble tacked on seven boards, including four on the offensive end. The Rangers shot 43.4 percent from the floor while hitting 10 three-pointers as a team, out-rebounding Lee, 68-60 and scoring 17 points off of nine General turnovers.
 
Hatzmann Named Ranger of the Week
Senior Reid Hatzmann earned Ranger of the Week honors after another strong week for the undefeated Rangers. Over last week's two-game slate, Hatzmann averaged eight assists, six points and five rebounds per game, including a season-high 11 points against Lee. The senior tacked on a season-high nine assists to open the week against Denton.
 
Rangers Rise in State Rankings
After maintaining an unbeaten record heading into the third week of competition, Jesuit Dallas has moved up to No. 15 in the most recent Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) Top 25 Rankings, released on Nov. 27. The Rangers are the sixth-highest ranked Metroplex team in the rankings, following No. 2 Denton Guyer, No. 5 DeSoto, No. 6 South Garland, No. 11 South Grand Prairie and No. 12 North Crowley.  The Rangers are one of seven unbeaten teams remaining in the top 15 and are the only members of UIL District 9-6A ranked in the state.
 
Scouting Plano East
The Panthers enter Tuesday's game with a 2-6 record, including a 1-3 mark over the last four games. Most recently, Plano East upended UIL District 9-6A member W.T. White, 54-48, led by a team season-high 23 points from Kiesean Weiher. Last season, Plano East wrapped the season with a 10-18 record and 2-9 district mark, missing the playoffs. Head coach Jeff Clarkson, a Plano East alum, returns to coach the Panthers for his fifth season on the sidelines.
 
Up Next
Jesuit Dallas will return to Walsh Gym for the 55th Annual Bob Stras Knights of Columbus Tournament. The Rangers will take on San Antonio Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30 to open the tournament.
