A decorated student-athlete who helped set the standard at goalkeeper for Jesuit Dallas lacrosse, Christian Carson-Banister formed a dangerous goalkeeping tandem at Jesuit along with 2023 Jesuit Dallas Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Dan Morris ‘13. Over his time playing for a nationally-ranked Jesuit lacrosse squad, Carson-Banister secured THSLL All-District honors in 2012, and earned the lacrosse program’s Ranger Heart award in 2013.
Following his tenure with the Rangers with a record-breaking career at Boston University, he joined the Terriers for the program’s inaugural season in 2014 and earned the first start in program history against Mercer on Feb. 8, 2014. At the end of his freshman season, Carson-Banister was named the team’s Most Valuable Player, then followed that campaign by tacking on six wins in goal in 2015 and securing Inside Lacrosse preseason All-American honors in 2016.Â
Carson-Banister’s breakout senior season saw the netminder claim All-America honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) and Inside Lacrosse along with Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year plaudits, and All-Patriot League and All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) First Team honors.Â
He was inducted into the Boston University Scarlet Key Honor Society, an honor reserved for students who have exhibited exceptional leadership among their peers, and received the John B. Simpson Award in 2017 for enthusiasm and leadership during his time at BU. Heading into the 2025 season, Carson-Banister is still the single-season leader in save percentage (.586, 2017) and owns the three lowest single-season goals against averages in program history. In addition, he is the all-time program record holder in saves (640), save percentage (.557), and goals against average (9.37).
In 2018, Carson-Banister was selected by the Dallas Rattlers in the 2018 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Supplemental Draft, becoming the first Dallas native to be drafted by the organization. During the 2019 season, Carson-Banister appeared in 13 games for the Rattlers and secured 62 saves. Carson-Banister is currently an attorney at the McClure Law Group in Dallas and is a coach for Iron Horse Lacrosse where he helps mentor the next generation of lacrosse goalies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
