Frank Harrison played four years of football, one year of baseball, and one year of track at Jesuit. He was the leading rusher for the 1952 team, averaging eight yards per carry, while also serving as team captain.

Harrison had numerous successful games as a senior. In the second game of the year against Brewer High of Fort Worth, he rushed for 113 yards on 10 carries, and scored four touchdowns. In a game against Cascia Hall in which he rushed for 117 yards and a score in a 14-0 Jesuit victory, Harrison was named Dallas Area Player of the Week. He was presented the award on “Sports Figures,” a WFAA TV program in October.

Playing the second half with a cracked rib, Harrison rushed for 152 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown, as Jesuit played Bishop Byrne in the first-ever TCIL playoff semi-final game in Port Arthur. Due to his all-around play and contributions to his team, he was named the 1952 team MVP. Harrison’s talents were also recognized with his selection to the All-Greater Dallas Football Squad by The Dallas Morning News.

Harrison attended the University of Notre Dame where he played in the backfield on the freshman team. He was touted in National Sports, Inc. Magazine as a promising running back for the Notre Dame season, but his athletic career came to an unfortunate end following a shoulder injury in the spring of 1954.
