Tristan James (TJ) Hansen was one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the Jesuit Dallas wrestling program. Graduating as the School record holder for takedowns in a career, Hansen was recognized as the area’s top wrestler by the Dallas Morning News following his senior campaign after placing in the top 10 at the Prep All-American national championships

A three-time state champion in Texas (1999-2001), Hansen was selected three-times for All-State (1999-2001) and All-American (1998-2001) honors. Under the guidance of Head Coach Frank Holleran, Hansen helped lead the Rangers to the TCIL State Championship in 2001.

Among his honors, Hansen was named Intermat Honorable Mention All-American in 2001, First Team All-Area twice (2000-01) and Second Team All-Area in 1999. Hansen was also selected as the team's Most Outstanding Wrestler (1998-99) and Most Valuable Wrestler (1999-2000, 2000-01).

Following his outstanding prep career, Hansen was a three-time lettermen for the University of Missouri Tigers, where he was a part of a top 10 Division I program. Hansen made his first collegiate start at 174 pounds against Sam Temko of Cal-Poly on Jan. 4, 2004, winning an 11-4 decision. He was a Lathrop and Gage Student Athlete of the Week recipient in 2005 and earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll five out of eight semesters.
