Bill Durick taught and coached in the Catholic school system for 50 years. His career started in Mobile, Ala., at McGill Institute and continued when he joined the staff at Jesuit Dallas as head varsity basketball and baseball coach as well as assistant football coach in 1953. Four years later he was named athletic director, a position he held until 1965. Along with Edo Biasatti, he was an assistant to Lank Smith on Jesuit's first TCIL Football Championship team in 1954. During Durick’s lengthy baseball coaching career, Jesuit never had a losing season. While at Jesuit he served his President of the TCIL for 5 years.

Durick coached at the University of Dallas and served as Dean of Students. Through the years, he was involved with Ursuline, Cistercian, Bishop Dunne and Bishop Lynch. In addition, he was a Southwest Conference basketball official for 15 years, started Ranger Day Summer Camp for boys, and served as president of the TCIL for five years. Durick passed away in 2014.
