Ray Ruwaldt was one of the finest running backs and all-around athletes to attend Jesuit. He played varsity football and baseball for three years and also lettered one year in basketball as a member of the first TCIL State Championship teams in both football and basketball.
Ruwaldt set School rushing records and was voted DFW Back of the Week in 1954. He was selected as All-State, All-Greater Dallas and All-National Catholic in football. His leadership skills were perfected as he served as vice president of his class in 9th Grade and class president in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. He was also a member of the Sodality for three years. Ruwaldt attended the University of Houston on a football scholarship and also played varsity baseball for two years. Ruwaldt passed away in 1979.Â
