Tony Lalumia was a three-year starting point for the Jesuit Dallas Rangers. He was named Sophomore of the Year, before earning TCIL All-District honors as a junior and senior. In 1968, he was named District Player of the Year, while having the distinction of being the only player from North Texas on the All-State team. He co-captained Jesuit to the state tournament, where he was selected to the TCIL All-State Tournament team. Lalumia was a two-time selection to the Knight of Columbus All-Tournament team and the Lancaster Invitational. Teammates selected Lalumia as Most Improved Best Passer and Best Defender his sophomore year, Best Defender his junior season, and MVP and Best Defender his senior campaign.

Lalumia graduated from Jesuit as the School’s leader in assists and second on Jesuit’s all-time scoring list. He was the leader on teams that won back-to-back district titles (1967, 1968), with the 1968 team becoming the first team in School history to go undefeated in district play.

Lalumia also lettered three years on the varsity baseball team as a second baseman, and was named to the American Legion All-Star team his senior year. He received a basketball scholarship to St. Mary’s University, where he played for two years before eventually transferring and graduating from Texas State University.
