From 1954-58, Milton Gaudet was an assistant coach in football, basketball, and baseball at Jesuit in New Orleans. Named head football coach and teacher of mathematics at Jesuit Dallas in 1958, Gaudet guided the Rangers through a pivotal period of growth. During his six seasons on the sidelines of the Blue & Gold, the team's overall record was 46-18-2. The Rangers won the TCIL State Championship three consecutive years (1958-60), and nearly won a fourth title but lost, 7-6, in the 1961 state finals.

In 1959 the team went undefeated, finishing with a perfect 12-0 record. This squad remains the only undefeated and untied football team in School history. In 1964, Gaudet returned to New Orleans to coach football and baseball, leading his team to both a district and state championship in American Legion baseball. Gaudet left high school sports to become General Manager of City Park. Upon retirement he was asked to organize a soccer program for Dominican Girls High School. After six seasons his record in soccer stood at 88-37-11.
