Henry “Hank” Meinster, known as the “Dean” of Jesuit Dallas and North Texas Soccer, devoted more than 50 years to the sport at the regional, national and international levels. A former Dutch professional soccer player, he was one of the founders of the North Texas Soccer Association and served as its first president. He also served as president of the North Texas Referees Association.

In 1960, Meinster started the soccer program at Jesuit and served as the varsity coach for 22 years. He built Jesuit soccer’s winning tradition with three consecutive TCIL State Championship teams from 1978-1980 and was named TCIL Coach of the Year in 1979 and 1980. Apart from his high school coaching, Meinster started soccer programs and coached at St. Rita and the University of Dallas. After his retirement from Jesuit in 1982, the annual Meinster Tournament hosted by Jesuit Dallas was inaugurated, attracting many of the top teams from the metroplex and across the state of Texas. In 1990, Meinster was inducted into the North Texas Soccer Hall of Fame.
