Dan Morris

A prolific goalkeeper, Dan Morris was a three-time first team all-state selection and consensus All-American in lacrosse, as well as the program’s first sophomore captain and a two-time Team MVP. A successful career followed the decorated netminder as Morris found championship success at the collegiate and professional ranks.

Morris helped lead the Rangers to four state tournament appearances from 2010 to 2013 along with a state championship appearance in 2011. His accolade-filled varsity career was highlighted by approximately 550 career saves, a selection to four All-America teams in 2013, and a spot on the Under Armour All-America Game roster in the same year, where he made eight saves in the first half of the annual high school lacrosse showcase.

During his recruitment, Morris was ranked among the top 50 lacrosse prospects in the nation, ultimately landing at the University of Maryland. Morris earned the starting job in goal for the 2017 campaign, jumpstarting a two-year run that would see Morris post a 30-7 record in goal for the Terrapins. 

In 2017, Morris made 200 saves during the Terrapins’ run to the 2017 NCAA Division I National Championship, the first for the program since 1975. In the Terps’ 9-6 title game win against Ohio State, Morris held the Buckeyes to six goals and made 11 saves. 

Morris concluded his college career by starting all 18 games for Maryland in 2018, adding 185 saves to his career total and departing College Park with a 30-7 record. Morris concluded his Maryland career as a two-time All-American and was named to the Lowe’s Senior CLASS All-America first team. Additionally, Morris was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was honored as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2017. Morris’ 410 career saves ranks seventh in program history.

Morris was selected with the 50th overall pick of the 2018 Major League Lacrosse draft by the New York Lizards, and was a member of the inaural Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League. Morris added to his championship pedigree in 2019, winning the inaugural PLL Championship with the Whipsnakes. Morris also named to the Phillipines National Team and was selected to compete at the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships.
